General Information

Technology Administration
The Department of Commerce's Technology Administration advocates for technological innovation in government policy; analyzes factors that affect U.S. technological innovation and competitiveness; develops and promotes measurements, standards, and technology to enhance productivity, trade, and the quality of life; and provides information that stimulates business innovation and discovery. It also serves as the largest central resource for government-funded scientific, technical, engineering, and business-related information.

Advanced Technology Program
The National Institute of Standards and Technology's Advanced Technology Program bridges the gap between the research lab and the marketplace by accelerating the development of innovative technologies that promise significant commercial payoffs and widespread benefits. Designed to assist businesses in carrying out research and development, this program provides technology development grants to single businesses, joint ventures, or independent research institutes.
