Spencer R. Sias
Vice President, Corporate Communications and Investor Relations
Spencer Sias joined Varian Medical Systems in 1999 when it became one of three independent businesses created by the spin-off of Varian Associates, Inc. He manages investor relations and corporate communications including public relations, employee communications and community relations for the company.
In his previous position, Sias served as Director of Public Relations at Raychem Corporation. Prior to that, he worked with a high-tech public relations firm in the Silicon Valley, supporting companies that included Varian Associates, Hewlett Packard, Tektronix, and Sun Microsystems. Sias' career in corporate communications has built upon his prior success as an award-winning journalist, with ten years' experience reporting and editing for daily newspapers, including Gannett Newspapers. He holds a BA in journalism from San Francisco State University.
