Varian RapidArc radiotherapy technology is a new breakthrough in cancer treatment that delivers powerful and precise tumor-destroying radiation in a treatment that takes less than two minutes a day.

3. Where can I go for treatment with RapidArc?

5. Does Varian provide the treatment or do I need to go to outside doctors?

Varian is the manufacturer of RapidArc technology. The treatments are provided only through oncology (cancer) professional at hospitals, clinics, or medical centers.

6. Is RapidArc covered by my insurance?

Individual insurances vary, so please check with your insurance company to see if RapidArc radiotherapy technology will be covered. RapidArc is a form of radiation therapy.

7. What types of cancers can you treat with RapidArc?

Almost any tumor that would normally be treated with radiation therapy can be treated with RapidArc. Your doctor can discuss with you whether RapidArc is right for you. There is more information in the patient pamphlet and on our web site.

You will need to discuss the appropriateness of Varian RapidArc technology with your doctor. There are many variables to consider in determining whether someone is a good candidate for the technology.

8. Is RapidArc approved by the FDA? When was it approved?

Manufacturers are required to notify the FDA and obtain clearance from them prior to selling devices such as RapidArc. Varian has obtained the necessary clearances from the FDA to sell RapidArc.
